ELIAS: Good day! This day, we shall be discussing situations of distress, in many different forms. And I will open that to all of you.
I acknowledge that this has recently been a difficult time framework for many individuals. Many individuals are experiencing physical manifestations and difficulties in interactions with other individuals, distress in relation to their individual situations and in relation to their communities and the world.
I would express that this is an intense time framework presently. Many, many countries within your world are experiencing considerable distress and fear and unrest. And in that, it is affecting in a mass capacity in energy, and that ultimately is exacerbating situations with individuals within your individual lives.
And because of that tremendous energy that is being expressed en masse and so much fear and distress, it is creating a situation in which many individuals are responding to that energy in creating distress in their own individual lives and situations.
In that, many individuals recently have been creating significant physical manifestations, and once again, as we were discussing in our group interaction in our previous year, death has been another subject that is quite prevalent more recently.
In this, I would invite each of you to share your experiences and what you are generating within your individual lives, and we can examine that and evaluate how you can maneuver within this type of energy in a more productive and a more comfortable manner.
Therefore, I open the forum to all of you, to present your questions in relation to this subject. (Pause)
MODERATOR: So, if anybody wants to ask a question, you can jump in now. (Pause)
MARIJ: Hi Elias. It’s Marij (Kammi). Well, that is very difficult, how you started, because I expected to listen to you, and now I have to think and feel about a question for me. (Elias laughs) So, ja, indeed, that is funny. Ja.
I can only say—I will start saying what I’m doing now, and maybe you can help me how I can maybe do it in such a way that it’s more beneficial. (Coughs) Sorry. I’m coughing also.
A couple of months ago, maybe four or five months ago, I actually consciously stopped the job that I was doing, and I had told myself I need a little bit more time for myself. So, that is actually what I’m doing. Sometimes it means a lot of watching of what’s going on in the Elias Forum and watching other things, sometimes I’m doing nothing. I’m sitting in my town, maybe in a restaurant or whatever, and I have the feeling wow, this feels like a different reality to me because I don’t really know what those people are thinking, what they are doing. I don’t know exactly how I can connect to them.
And in the meantime, what I am doing is trying to take care of myself. So, I’m not doing quite a lot. Physically, I’m not really strong. My coughing and my asthma, I’m trying to take care of that. I am trying to listen to my body, and at the same time I’m not quite sure whether that is exactly what I should be doing to do what I intend to like most. And at the same time, there is nothing else in me that prompts me to do anything different than just taking care of me.
So, I’m not quite sure what the question is, because there is a little frustration because I’m a Sumafi/Sumafi, soft and dispersed, so a lot of what’s going on in the world comes to me. And yet, at the same time I don’t feel a desire to do anything else than just to do what I’m doing now. Maybe it sounds kind of silly almost, but that’s where I am at. And so maybe you can give some comments on that, whether that is the good way to go about being me in this time framework.
ELIAS: First of all, I would acknowledge you and commend you that you are attempting to care for yourself and honor yourself. But what does that actually mean? This is actually an excellent point, and an excellent beginning point in relation to the questions posed.
For in this, the point is precisely that, what you are doing in your individual lives, and that that is affecting of what is occurring around you. It is not only that the energy around you affects you, but you affect the energy around you also, in relation to what you do.
And this is an excellent beginning point, because it raises the question of what does that mean to be honoring yourself, or to be caring for yourself and listening to yourself. Many, many, many individuals generate the idea that paying attention to themself means almost excluding paying attention to everything else, or what is occurring around them. And what occurs in many situations is that the individual then becomes somewhat isolated or separated from other individuals. They are no longer engaging with other individuals; they are only paying attention to themself and are concentrating their attention on caring for themself. But in that, this can be somewhat tricky.
Now, you expressed that you are paying attention to your body consciousness and attempting to maintain this manifestation of asthma. And in that, I would inquire of you, is it being maintained? Is your breathing clear? Is your breathing natural? Are you incorporating no difficulty in breathing?
MARIJ: Not all the time clear.
ELIAS: And in that, I would inquire of you, do you incorporate moments in which you are confused or questioning because you ARE attempting to pay attention to yourself, why your breathing may not be clear or maintained in a manner that is more comfortable, more consistently?
MARIJ: Ja. Thank you for the question. Yes, I am sometimes confused. I recently realized that when somebody is being told you have asthma or whatever, that the belief system is that you always have asthma or a blockage in breathing. And after all the talk that you had about healing and how we can be conscious about regeneration I was like, well why am I even thinking that this always has to be the same? So, maybe the last month I’m more conscious about what am I doing that I’m blocking my free breathing? So, at times, it’s free, and then I think, wow, I didn’t use any medicine for a couple of days and they tell me that I shouldn’t survive without medicine, but apparently it’s not all the time necessary. So, I’m in the process of discovering like why should I believe that I’m not able to, ja, regenerate my free being—free breathing. So, breathing and being, it’s apparently for me something that sounds alike.
ELIAS: Yes! And I would tremendously acknowledge you in that. For it IS, for your breathing sustains your existence. And in that, it IS part of you BEING, and I would be very much acknowledging you in the steps that you are engaging in that direction, in maintaining it differently and questioning and empowering yourself.
Once again, this also is an excellent example of moving in new directions, questioning yourself: what are you doing? What are you participating in? This is a tremendous example, because it is an example of situations and experiences that individuals have in many, many different capacities, and would likely not necessarily associate them with the subject that I began with, in relation to your world, in relation to mass energies and mass expressions or what other individuals are doing. For it does affect you, and you do affect it.
In this, this is precisely what I AM addressing to, is what you are doing in your individual lives with your individual experiences. And a physical manifestation such as asthma can be a tremendous example in that. For in this, you are correct. You have mass beliefs in relation to this physical manifestation. Your physicians move en masse, in how it is to be addressed to and how it is to be maintained. They also move in a direction of promoting and encouraging medication, which can be helpful to a degree; I am not discounting that aspect. But they also move in a direction of encouraging fear if you DON’T incorporate medication. They do not move in a direction, generally speaking—there are always exceptions—in which they are encouraging the individual to empower themself and therefore maintain the physical action of breathing in a comfortable manner.
And another reason that this is an excellent example is that asthma is, or has become, a very common physical manifestation in this present time framework throughout your world. And in that, this is a physical manifestation—very similar to many, many, many physical manifestations—that is an actual affectingness of a part of the body consciousness in a physical capacity but that is also VERY influenced and affected by energy and by how you are expressing that energy. It is very affected by tension and stress, anxiety or even feeling disconnected.
In this, it is not only affected by what you think of as outside sources, which also connects this in a manner in relation to allergies and what they are, for this manifestation of asthma is very similar to allergies. I am aware that there are some individuals that express both, but they do not necessarily move hand in hand. An individual can express allergies and no asthma, or can express asthma and no allergies. But they manifest in very similar manners in relation to the body consciousness, in that the body consciousness is reacting to an irritation.
In this, the body creates targets in relation to these physical manifestations with asthma and with allergies, in which the body consciousness will target some outside source as its symbol of the irritation. This is the reason that your physicians will express to you that certain conditions in weather or climate can be contributants to asthma, or certain outside sources can be contributants, such as fur or dust or mold. And in that, they also express that outside sources are what create allergies.
In actuality, allergies and asthma both are created in relation to an irritation of the body consciousness in association with some irritation that you are individually experiencing, and that may not be an outside source at all. But the body targets an outside source as its symbol of what is irritating it, and therefore it can be confusing to identify what is actually generating this physical manifestation.
Which also fits nicely with our opening subject, for there are many, many, many situations and time frameworks in which it can be confusing to many individuals that they may be being affected by energies that they are not objectively aware of, just as with some allergies, and more so with the condition of asthma, that can be being expressed or aggravated, and the individual may not objectively define what precisely is creating that reaction of the body consciousness, why in this moment is this occurring.
And the tricky aspect of that is that it is not always associated with what you are physically doing in that moment or in that time framework. It can be more associated with subjects that at different times are triggered and become more irritating than other times. But you might not feel irritated. You might not notice that that trigger is occurring. What you do notice is the physical manifestation and the flare of that physical manifestation, which in actuality is the same as noticing that the irritation is occurring. The difficulty is defining what that irritation is at that time, or what triggered it.
But this is an excellent beginning in recognizing that you do have choices, you have power, that this is not an expression that is beyond your direction, that you DO have choices and you CAN direct it. You are not a victim of it.
Just as, regardless of what may be occurring outside of you and the energy that is being expressed en masse, it SEEMS to many individuals that you are only one person, and that you don’t have the power to fight these mass expressions and these mass generatings of energies. But that also is the point. It is not about fighting them. It is about recognizing that regardless of how large any group seems or how large your world seems, you are equally as powerful as that outside source, and you have choices.
You have choices in what YOU choose to pay attention to, to participate with and to express, including what you are generating with your physical body. In this, yes, it is important and significant for you to be paying attention to your body consciousness, and I tremendously acknowledge that, that you are. It is also important to be aware of HOW are you paying attention to your body consciousness, WHAT are you paying attention to. It is not only a matter of paying attention to what irritates it; it is also a matter of noticing what isn’t irritating it, and all of the moments in which it is functioning and it is centered and it is comfortable, and noticing what you are doing in those time frameworks that creates that.
In this, you expressed another comment in relation to what you are doing, that you stopped working, and you expressed some actions that you are engaging. And then you expressed that OTHERWISE you are doing nothing. But that is not actually correct. You are always doing something.
And in that, in those time frameworks that you think you are doing nothing, those are important time frameworks to pay attention to, in what you actually are doing that is allowing you to maintain being comfortable. OR conversely, when you think you are doing nothing, what are you doing that is maintaining you being uncomfortable? For that also is a significant point.
For there are many times and situations in which individuals are significantly uncomfortable, and they are evaluating that they are doing nothing. But you are doing something, and you are paying attention to something, and that is significant. For whatever you are DOING during that time is maintaining, whether you are comfortable or whether you are not comfortable. It is perpetuating whatever it is that you are experiencing, that you are evaluating you are doing nothing.
In this, I would also express, in relation to another comment that you generated in saying that you might visit a café and you are watching the other individuals, and you are not necessarily invested, but you notice that you might at times feel somewhat removed from them. This is an important point, for that is a piece that exacerbates that physical expression of the breathing and constricts it, that feeling or that perception of not quite connecting and not quite participating, holding yourself on the outside of what is occurring around you.
And in that, why? For I would express that yes, it can be tremendously beneficial to incorporate alone time and to be genuinely interactive with yourself, but it is also significantly important to be connecting, because you ARE interconnected.
And in that, pulling yourself away from that interconnectedness restricts you. And if your body consciousness has already targeted for a number of years a particular area in which it will automatically affect,—such as your lungs, your breathing—then that will be the most common manifestation that your body consciousness will engage in relation to any expression that fits with not connecting or restricting. Anything that is a restriction to you, the body will respond to or react to by engaging that manifestation that it has already targeted, for it is easy and it is automatic.
Therefore, it IS significant to be aware of what you are doing when you think you are doing nothing. And in that, it is not a matter of it is necessary for you to be actively engaging other individuals or developing relationships; no. It is not that black and white. It may be merely as simple as acknowledging the other individuals around you, not necessarily engaging them, merely acknowledging them by smiling at them. For that action is your expression to yourself and from yourself of being connected, and therefore not being restricted.
It is not a matter of expecting a response or even WANTING a response, or engaging in any manner that is overt or in which you are interacting with other individuals. It is not necessary for you to move in that direction if you don’t want to or if you aren’t comfortable with that action.
If you are comfortable being in your own space arrangement in a public area, and you are comfortable being alone with yourself but you are aware of many individuals around you, rather than restricting yourself by noticing this invisible barrier between yourself and everything around you, it can be very empowering to simply acknowledge everything around you as being connected to you. And that can be expressed in the simplest of manners. As I expressed, it could be perhaps merely generating eye contact with another individual, or each individual. Or it could be merely expressing a smile, in which you are expressing in that action, “I am not restricted. I am open.”
In that, the body consciousness receives that message also: “I am open. I am not restricted.” And that encourages the body to move in more of a natural action and breathe more naturally.
Thank you. That was an excellent example of a personal experience that does relate to the bigger picture.
MODERATOR: Hi Elias. This is the moderator. I have a question from Barb. She wants to know, in relation to what you were saying, what about the high rate of allergies in animals such as dogs? She’s curious whether we are pushing our issues onto other creatures that we live with.
ELIAS: That also is an excellent question.
Now; in that, what I would express is, are you influencing that? Is your species influencing that? Yes. I would definitely agree. I would express to you that if you were a zoologist and you were studying animals in the wild, so to speak, you would RARELY encounter an animal that has developed and expresses allergies. It is animals that you directly interact with, animals that you have either domesticated or animals that you incorporate, in your terminology, in captivity, even if you have not domesticated them. And they DO develop allergies, and they do that for very similar reasons to yourselves. And your species has been a tremendous influence in that direction.
Now understand, once again: animals do generate their own choices, but in a different capacity from you as humans, who are tremendously suggestible. Animals are not necessarily suggestible, but they are excellent reflectors. And in being excellent reflectors, they willingly receive energy from you as humans as you interact with them, and that does generate an influence in which they create reactions very similar to yourselves in the development of allergies.
You will notice also a tremendous example are whales, which are different, but I would express that they are a considerably different type of example also, because they live in an entirely different environment, and therefore, in that, you would automatically assess that it would be near impossible for a whale to develop allergies. But whales in captivity develop allergies frequently.
In this, their environment is altered, and it is including substances and even water that is affected or manufactured by you as humans. Therefore you alter their environment, and what is an allergy? It is the body reacting to something that is irritating it.
Now; in the same manner as yourselves, their bodies target an outside source, but the reason that they develop an allergy is because their body is being irritated by something greater than that one outside source. It is a situation or an expression or an ongoing direction or an ongoing interaction. There is some other source that is irritating, and the body consciousness is reacting to that, and then targets an outside source as its symbol of that particular irritation.
Just as I have expressed previously, you as humans, generally en masse, you move in directions of even designating allergy SEASONS. And why do you do that? When are your allergy seasons? Spring and fall. Why? Spring follows winter, in which, in the winter, most individuals in many, many, many locations are functioning differently. They function different in the winter, and this holds even in climates that do not express a winter season, because there are other places on your planet that DO express a winter season. And those places, with those individuals, move differently, and that affects other individuals in other places in relation to how you function: your commerce, your governments, your function in many different capacities, even travel. It matters not. Therefore, in that, the individuals in climates that do not incorporate what you think of as a winter season, that do not incorporate the cold or winter elements, they are affected also, but to a much lesser degree.
Now; what happens in the spring? You attribute allergies to new growth of plants, that there are flowers in the spring, there is pollen in the spring and everything is newly growing, and that is what creates allergies. No, actually, those are the targets. But in that, what happens in the spring? You are expected, and you expect yourselves to function differently, to function more productively, more quickly, and to be more interactive. Therefore, in the spring you change your behavior, and that change of behavior is not always comfortable. And therefore, the body consciousness reacts to that irritation, and it targets what happens outside in the spring. Things grow.
In the fall, once again you change. Fall follows summer. You are very active in summer, and you generally—most individuals—enjoy summer. And at that point you are accustomed to moving more quickly, to behaving more in an interactive manner, to be more outwardly expressive. When fall arrives, now you are moving in a direction of gearing down again. And in that, you move in directions of altering your behavior, altering how you move, how you act, what you do. AND, you express tremendous holidays, which creates pressure. And you react to the pressure.
Now; in that, you create another allergy season. How this associates with animals, especially domesticated animals, is that they observe you tremendously, and they reflect you. And in that, they don’t evaluate whether it is good or bad. They emulate many of your practices. You do it; if you do it, and you are important to them, then what you are doing must be important, and they do it too.
And in that, they develop sensitivities similar to yourselves. If you are uncomfortable with your environment, it would be understandable that your animal companion might become or develop an allergy to its food, or to some aspect in its environment. In this, the animals around you are very responsive to what you do. Let me also express to you that the animals around you are responsive to what you do that is not about them, meaning they are responsive to what you do en masse in your environment. And that is another reason that they develop allergies.
I would express that there are animals that you would consider to be wild, that inhabit areas that are populated by people—cities, towns—and that some wild animals are incorporated in those environments also. And they also can and do develop allergies—not to the extent that your companions do, and I would express that generally those animals that develop allergies that you deem to be wild animals in urban areas generally do not survive long. They disengage considerably young.
But I would express, are you pushing that on them? No. Are you intentionally influencing them in those capacities? Definitely no. Is it somewhat of a natural action that occurs? Yes. I would say to you that generally, let us say an individual that is considerably healthy, so to speak, and not tremendously concerned with physical manifestations, that individual may incorporate a companion of a dog or a cat or a bird, and the animal companion likely will not incorporate any type of allergy either, and will generally exhibit considerable health in reflecting the individual that they are engaging with.
But I would express that in that explanation of allergies, that it is an inner irritation that targets an outside source as its symbol, there are many animals that don’t have human companions, that are what you would consider to be domesticated animals, that do generate significant allergies and physical manifestations in that direction, partially because of the environment that they are reacting to, and partially because of the energy that is expressed in relation to them in general, that they are discarded or that they are unimportant. And in that, that is an irritant, and yes, they do react to that in similar manner to yourselves in generating allergies.
And I would express that there may be individuals that genuinely care for and genuinely love their animal companions, and their animal companions may express allergies or physical manifestations. Is that your fault? Definitely NO. Is it a reflection? To a degree, yes. But it is a part of what you have created with your animal companions.
Therefore, I would definitely encourage all of you NOT to discount yourselves and judge yourselves if you yourself incorporate an animal companion that does express those types of symptoms. I would express that you can aid them in reducing the irritations and reducing your own irritations, and that is generally addressed by reducing your concerns and what is bothersome to you, and being more comfortable and more satisfied with your existence and your life. And in that, your companion will be more comfortable, also. (Pause)
MARIJ: Hi Elias. Sorry, I come in again. I would like to go back to how you started, with what you started. You said there is an intense time framework with considerable distress and fear. And some others here in the group, in the webinar, added to that “and extreme emotional reactions, responses, individually and collectively.” So, maybe—you asked us about our personal experiences, but could you give us some ideas how to deal or how to move amidst this stress and distress in a beneficial manner?
ELIAS: Very well. First of all, let me acknowledge to all of you that when you encounter other individuals that are angry or afraid or are expressing in negative capacities, most of you feel uncomfortable with that. Unless you are actually participating in it yourself, when other individuals are expressing in a negative or angry or distressed or depressed or anxious manner, your immediate response to that is being uncomfortable and wanting the other individuals to not experience that, to be more comfortable, to be more satisfied, to be more content.
The first piece that I would express to you is when you are engaged with other individuals, it is a matter of actually paying attention, first of all, to what you are evaluating. Which may sound to you somewhat simplistic, but in actuality it is a significant point. For generally speaking, when you are interactive or even merely listening to other individuals—and you may be listening not actually in their physical presence. You may be listening to the radio, or you may be listening to your television, and therefore you are not actually physically ENGAGING another individual, but you are listening. And you are immediately evaluating whether you agree or disagree with whatever is being expressed.
In that, the first point is to notice and pay attention [to] why you agree or disagree, and how strongly do you agree or disagree. Not that you should NOT agree or disagree, for you have your individual guidelines and your individual preferences and opinions. Therefore, you will agree or disagree. But why? That is the first part.
For it is a matter of, as I have expressed previously, not only what you are doing but HOW you are doing it. If you are engaged in a conversation with other individuals, and they are expressing in a particular manner, and you don’t like how they are expressing, pause and merely evaluate why don’t you like what they are expressing. For it may not be that it is WHAT they are expressing that you don’t like. It may be HOW they are expressing that you don’t like, or that is off-putting to you.
Now, in that, the reason that is important is because that gives you choices. When you are merely observing and you are merely generating your opinion, you are not actually giving yourself any choices. You are expressing either reactively or close to reactively.
And in that, what I would express to you is if you recognize that it is not necessarily WHAT another individual is expressing but HOW they are expressing that is uncomfortable for you, then that gives you choices to perhaps engage with the other individual and express in a different manner. You may be agreeing with them, but doing it in a different manner.
And in that, that is not for their benefit. That is for YOUR benefit. That is to allow you to participate, but in a manner that is acceptable and comfortable for you. Not to change what the other individuals are doing, not to show them that how they are expressing is wrong, but to allow you to participate, to allow you to include yourself in your own fashion, in your own expression. That you can agree or disagree, but you can do it in YOUR capacity, not in their capacity, and not in the echoing.
For I would express to you that this is becoming more and more and more common. There have always been individuals that do not quite fit with the groups naturally. But as you continue shifting, this is becoming more and more and more common, because you are becoming more and more aware. And in becoming more aware, you don’t always entirely fit with ANY groups. For you are expressing more and more of your own individuality and generating considerable importance with that.
But the construct of being part of the group remains strong. And even if you think you don’t want to BE part of the group, you FEEL something in not being. You feel outside. You feel uncomfortable. You feel disconnected.
Therefore, there are two points in this. One is recognizing that construct that individuals naturally want to gravitate to each other because of that interconnectedness. But as you grow more aware, you realize that your motivation has previously been to be accepted, and therefore that gives you, or validates, your worth and your importance. And that is what motivated individuals previously to gravitate to groups, or to not want to be on the outside of groups.
Now; as you generate more self-awareness, you naturally are not as inclined to place yourself in positions of being in groups, but the construct remains. You merely don’t think about it, but it does influence your behavior, and it does influence how you maneuver with other individuals.
Therefore, if you are aware of that, you can empower yourself and you can express to yourself, “Do I agree or do I disagree? If I merely disagree with HOW an expression is being set forth, then that gives me choices in which I can participate with other individuals and merely express myself in my own manner, and I can agree. If I disagree, it is not necessary for me to match energy with the other individuals. I can disagree, and I can vehemently disagree if it is significantly important to me. But I don’t have to convince the other individuals that they are wrong. I merely can express my disagreement. Or I can move in a direction of choosing not to participate because I don’t agree.”
In this, when you know what is influencing you, when you know what is affecting of you, then you have choices in how you participate or you don’t participate. And I would acknowledge to you, in relation to what we were discussing previously with your first question, that there are time frameworks in which you may not want to BE participating. You may not WANT to be engaging with other individuals.
It may be more important for you to be engaging yourself and moving in your own direction, but not always. It is also important to recognize that interconnectedness, and it is important to recognize how to use that at times in which it may be uncomfortable. At times it can be uncomfortable when another individual is being adamant about what they are expressing, or at times it may be uncomfortable if, in your perception, another individual is being a victim and you can see how they are being a victim, and you can even perhaps see how they could NOT be a victim, and they can’t see it. That can be considerably uncomfortable also.
And in that, what I would express is when you observe other individuals that are placing themselves in that role of a victim, that is a time framework for genuine and great compassion. For all of you have incorporated moments in which you have experienced yourself as a victim. And in that, those are moments in which the individual sees no choices, and feels and perceives themself to be helpless and powerless, and that cries out for compassion.
And in that, what I would express to you, all of you, is your greatest gift that you can offer is to support, to listen. You don’t have to agree. You don’t have to engage. It is a tremendous gift to listen. Because that one action—which, once again, seems as if you are doing nothing—you are doing tremendously, because that witnesses the other individual.
And in that, without words you are demonstrating to the other individual that they are important and valuable. And every individual is important and valuable, even if you don’t like them. (Chuckles)
You don’t have to like every individual. You don’t have to interact with individuals that you don’t like. You don’t have to convince yourself TO like individuals that you don’t like. But use your compassion (inaudible)other than (inaudible) matching energy.
MARIJ: Thank you, Elias. I shared last night a smile with a lot of people, and I appreciate your encouragement for all of us. Thank you.
ELIAS: You are very welcome, my dear friend. I would express to all of you that you have so much power and so much energy to offer. You minimize yourselves so tremendously. You are so quick to criticize yourselves and to find fault with yourselves. (Inaudible) with yourselves and each other. Show compassion to yourselves and to each other. I would express that your greatest adventure is to discover that, how important you are and how powerful you are. That is a tremendous (inaudible) movement in empowering yourselves and empowering each other.
In following our previous discussion, it is a matter of expressing to yourselves, and in that, march forward now. Marches, in physical marches, together in empowering yourselves and each other, that is a significant piece. (Inaudible) yourselves. Perhaps while you are empowering yourselves, you may contemplate how can you empower each other also.
And that also does not require agreement. (Chuckles) You can be empowering to each other and not necessarily agree with each other. You can incorporate different opinions, different philosophies, different importances, but what you share is yourselves, or what you term to be (inaudible).
MODERATOR: Hello Elias. This is the moderator. We have a bit less than ten minutes left, so I guess we can try to fit in one last question in there.
Brendan has been waiting for a question for a little while. He wanted to know why he created this stressful situation of receiving two letters from Customs in relation to substances he had ordered.
ELIAS: This was, in a manner of speaking, to be expected. As I expressed to him, it is very dependent upon his energy and what he was expecting to happen. This is yet again another tremendous example of what you do, dependent upon what you pay attention to. If you move in a direction of fear, that is what you will (inaudible). Let me express to you, this is (inaudible) dictate behavior, and when you allow (inaudible), it overrides (inaudible) and it snares yourself in a cage with your feelings, and it is considerably (inaudible). I acknowledge that that can be tremendously challenging to move out of.
What I express to all of you is you are not your feelings. You HAVE feelings. Feelings are signals in relation to what you are doing. You are expressing tremendous anxiety. This is a feeling, and it is alerting you to what you are DOING in the moment. Generally,--not always, but generally—it is alerting (inaudible) something that you are anticipating. Not that it is occurring now, that you are anticipating. And if you allow the feelings (inaudible) and you concentrate your attention on the feelings alone, then what occurs is you project that (inaudible) what you are concentrating on. If you expect some action to occur, (inaudible) or mistrusting, then you will create that.
Now; what I would express is in this, this is another excellent example because (inaudible) physical actions (inaudible) can be turned. What I would express is that (inaudible) you have perceived, that is your validation. (Inaudible) No physical action has occurred yet. Therefore, that can be changed, and that notification may be all that occurs. But once again, as I expressed previously, that is dependent on you. And I do once again acknowledge that it can be tremendously difficult and challenging to move your attention away from that anxiety or that fear, for it can be very powerful. But it is a matter of asking yourself, what is it that you want to create? Because you will create more of whatever it is that you are paying attention to.
Therefore, what do you want to create more of? More fear? More anxiety? Or more moving in the direction of being able to breathe? Which is how we began this conversation, in relation to breathing and constricting that breathing. And that can be done in many different manners, not only asthma.
In this, I would express a tremendous encouragement to stop the panic, and therefore stop that direction from continuing and moving farther. I would also express that regardless of the notifications that you have received, you have not actually broken a law. Therefore, remind yourself of that. And that may aid in quelling—to a degree, perhaps not entirely, but to a degree—that monster of fear that is gripping you so tremendously, and that anxiety.
Feelings are signals. Do not allow them to be more than they are, or to have more power.
MODERATOR: Okay. Thank you, Elias. I think we’re just about done with the time. Any concluding remarks on all of this?
ELIAS: What I would express to all of you is a tremendous encouragement. It is very easy in this time framework to become discouraged, and it is very easy for any negative feelings to be exacerbated, because there is such a tremendous surge of emotional expressions occurring en masse throughout your world. Therefore, that is more affecting than many of you realize.
The factor that you may not physically see it around you every day does not mean that it is not affecting. Remind yourselves of that when you are panicked or when you are distressed or when you are depressed or when you are confused and feeling somewhat helpless. Remind yourself: there is a tremendous energy that is contributing to that, and you can choose not to succumb to it. And in that, you can choose to empower yourself by moving in other directions, even if you don’t believe it yet. You don’t have to believe it yet. You move anyway, even when you don’t believe it. It changes the energy.
Therefore, I encourage all of you in that direction. And I give you all tremendous credit in what you are accomplishing and maintaining.
