ELIAS:  Good morning, Bosht!

HOWARD:  Good morning.  How are you this fine day?

ELIAS:  As always.

HOWARD:  Good.  I told Mary that I have given myself a terrible head cold here, and I will try to speak slowly and plainly so that I don’t get my words befuddled.

But I believe it’s an issue.  At least Margot has said in the past that my son is a counterpart, an opposite counterpart.  And recently this week we have been trading email, trying to clarify our positions on things.

Specifically, I said to Mary that Andy seems to have found his voice and is giving me more feedback than he did early on in the 1990s when I was trying to keep the family at least together in terms of love and affection, but I never got too much back from him.

So this cold thing started and has knocked me completely for a loop, and I guess I’m wondering if this is linked to that, or would it be the stress of my work and the idea that I need to control everything?  In my work, I tend to do that.

ELIAS:  I express to you that you lean in this direction in more areas than merely your work, do you not?

HOWARD:  Yes.  Yes, I do. (Elias chuckles)

ELIAS:  I shall also express to you that you are correct that your creation of physical affectingness presently is an expression of energy that you have offered to yourself in a mirroring of what you are creating inwardly.

Outwardly it is an expression of discomfort and an element that you view to be unacceptable.  This is quite efficiently an expression outwardly or objectively that you are creating within your energy that offers you imagery of what you are attempting to bring surfacely within your assessment of self inwardly.

This is not merely a reflection of beliefs.  This is a reflection of perception of self and your assessment of self — your evaluation of self — and your allowance in this time framework with yourself to begin peeling away, so to speak, the camouflage or the persona that you project to yourself; not merely in conjunction with other individuals, but more importantly, that mask that you present to yourself, which manifests itself in expressions that you outwardly identify as control.

HOWARD:  Hmm.  Okay.

ELIAS:  Let me express to you, Bosht, this expression of what you view to be control, in your expression individually, is quite purposefully projected as a mask, that you shall not allow yourself an entire clear viewing of self, for within your assessment, if you are allowing yourself to view yourself — not merely your behaviors, but yourself — you shall be disappointed, and therefore, you cover this or you camouflage this self with the mask of control, for this appears to you to be better.  I express to you that you are quite acceptable, and not the black hole that you perceive yourself to be!

HOWARD:  Okay!  (Laughing)

ELIAS:  Ha ha!

HOWARD:  That’s a big object of energy-sapping — the black hole.

ELIAS:  Quite!  It requires much energy expression to be holding your energy field so very tightly.

HOWARD:  Uh-huh!  Okay.

I used the metaphor of “lobsters in the pot” in one of my e-mails to my son.  He sent us a Christmas letter which looked very much like an impersonal tracking letter from a splinter group of the born-agains.

I said to him, “I’m not getting back into that pot again.  I’m free.  I’m swimming in the metaphysical swimming pool, and there’s no one in charge of the water but me,” and so on.  Finally I told him, “Well, Andy, I don’t need to return to Jesus.  I never left him, and he’s a friend of mine in every sense that you can imagine.  And the bottom line is, I just don’t worship him.  I never have.  He’s not a god to me.”  Then my setback with the health issue occurred probably eight hours later.  I thought it was a good example; I still do, actually.

Mary was saying that it was ... it was more important to allow ... well, she has stated that allowing, learning to allow, is probably the biggest thing that we are facing because of all of the different paradigms and belief systems.

ELIAS:  I may say to you that I shall be acknowledging of Michael in this statement, for presently, throughout your globe, in conjunction with this shift and in conjunction with this wave in consciousness that continues, allowance of difference is a very large challenge that you engage presently, and there are expressions of a lack of acceptance in difference in many, many types of expressions throughout your cultures, individually and en masse.

HOWARD:  Yes.  Yes, I can see that.

ELIAS:  Let me also express to you presently, another expression which many, many, many individuals are presenting to themselves presently — and yourself also — is the identification of tolerance and its confusion in definition with acceptance, for they are very different expressions.

HOWARD:  Yep.

ELIAS:  Tolerance holds expectations; acceptance does not.

HOWARD:  Alright, that makes sense.  Yes, it does.

Well, I’d like to move on to another family issue.  Is my dad still alive? (Pause)

ELIAS:  Within physical expression, you are inquiring?

HOWARD:  Yes. (Pause)

ELIAS:  Presently, yes.

HOWARD:  Okay.  Wow.  He’s almost ninety years old now!

One of the things that has concerned me is trying to understand what I need to do further — if anything — to get my book sold.  It’s an old issue with me, obviously.  I’ve done what I think is appropriate, but it seems to be stagnating currently, and I wondered if there was anything I could do to move it on.

ELIAS:  What you may incorporate is the discontinuation of doing! (Chuckling)

HOWARD:  Oh!

ELIAS:  For in your continuous doing, you are altering probabilities that you have already placed in motion.  You are interfering with your own energy.

HOWARD:  Okay.

ELIAS:  In this, as you allow yourself to be holding your attention in the direction of self and concerning yourself with the expression of your individual trust, you may serve yourself more efficiently in the allowance of the probabilities to be moving physically, and not creating obstacles or obstructing them.

HOWARD:  Yes, yes.

ELIAS:  Let me also express to you, within this time framework, as I have expressed several times recently, there is a tremendous surge in energy which is being expressed in restlessness and impatience with many, many individuals, yourself also, and in this expression, many individuals are creating very similar expressions objectively in what appears to be thwarting their own efforts in certain directions of their objective desires.  This is an expression of impatience.

But I shall express once again, patience is not waiting.  Patience is an active participation in objective allowance.  It is an act of trust.  It is an action.  It is not a lack of action and waiting for some element to be materializing within your reality, but an active participation in the act of trust and an objective expression which is participated in, in the allowance of energy to flow freely.

HOWARD:  Um-hmm.  Okay.  Yep, that’s fine!  I understand that very much! (Elias chuckles)  I wish I could follow my counsel though, a little bit, but I think it’s a good book, and I think it’s going to succeed.

ELIAS:  If you are allowing it to! (Grinning)

HOWARD:  Yeah. (Elias chuckles)  Yeah, you’re right!

We had a session a couple of ... well, I guess it was mid-summer.  I had mentioned to you a vision I saw, referring to the deer and the grizzly.  I had decided that this was something that Chief Joseph had experienced, and you said no, that was somebody else.  I didn’t have the presence of mind to ask you who that would be or who it is, but it’s quite a vivid picture.  I see it quite clearly.  So can you help me on that? (Pause)

ELIAS:  What you have allowed yourself to be viewing is a tapping into the visualization of another individual.

Now; this other individual is not a focus of your essence.  This is significant.  The reason that this holds significance is that you have offered yourself an opportunity to be allowing your energy momentarily to move in connection with another essence.

HOWARD:  I see.

ELIAS:  Within physical focus, for the most part, individuals may easily access information through their own essence, through focuses of their essence or other aspects of essence.  You may also quite easily tap into what you term to be world views, which are energy deposits within consciousness.

But moving into the tapping of experiences of other essences physically focused presents more difficulty in your expression of movement, for there are what you may express to be barriers within consciousness between essences.

These are figurative barriers, so to speak, for they are placed in the expressions of energy between essences as a type of safeguard, so to speak, concerning the individuality and identity of each essence.

This is not an expression of separation, but merely a projection of energy which is held by each essence as they choose to be physically manifest, that there shall not be created the expression of confusion in self-identity as you move in different experiences of mergences with other essences.  It creates objectively more of an expression of difficulty or thickness as you move in the direction of mergence or accessing experiences concerning the focuses of other essences.

But the reason that this holds significance — and this is the reason that your attention continues to be held in this experience — is that you have allowed yourself the opportunity to be moving in this direction, which allows you the recognition objectively of your abilities in mobility.

HOWARD:  Um-hmm.  Very good.  It would be, I guess, somewhat similar to that image of the castration that I attributed to being witnessed by Joseph, not necessarily me, and I thought that was so interesting what you said.

ELIAS:  Correct.

HOWARD:  The image deposits are there.  Well, good.

I would like to talk a little bit about a very bizarre ... well, a strange dream.  I’m hoping I can do myself justice in this.

I was in a courtyard of a restaurant, having coffee with some people.  Most of them I didn’t know.  One that I did know, at least as a personality, was Katie Couric of the news programs.

Suddenly I looked up and I saw this twirling, feathered bird, and it was twirling like a whirly-bird or a child’s toy.  Also, it looked kind of like a fallen seed of a pine tree, how it kind of just rotates and the current takes it, and it got down to the ground.

The feathers, I need to say, were kind of iridescent, and as it flipped around, it looked like a cartoon, and it was actually the American flag.  That was what I saw.  And I said, “Oh my god!  This is — and I gave it a name — this is a Goofy American Dodo!  A very endangered species!”  It flew regularly like a duck, but it got to altitudes above the ground and it collapsed its wings, wrapping them around itself, and kind of fluttered twistingly to the ground.

I was so excited!  I made sure that Katie Couric saw it, and I said, “This is an endangered bird, and we’ve never seen a nest of them, and here we are!  The nest exists, and we’ve never seen a female.”  And there it was.  I mean, it was so strange! (Laughing)  Margot said, “You’ve got to ask about that one!”  So I am.  What was that about?  A Goofy American Dodo!

ELIAS:  (Chuckling)  The imagery that you have presented to yourself is, first of all, to be offering yourself the recognition of the reality of elements that are unseen, but in your physical terms exist; that regardless that you may not physically view certain elements of your reality, they ARE reality regardless, and therefore exist.

But this is also significant imagery that you are presenting to yourself in conjunction with what we have begun this particular session with in subject matter.

HOWARD:  Oh!

ELIAS:  For you present yourself with this imagery of the reality of elements that are unseen, but are quite real.  But you also present yourself with the offering of this within what you would term to be a public forum and in the presence of an individual that you deem to be influential or instrumental in their ability to validate or invalidate your experience, for if you are offering the evidence of your experience to this particular individual, it may be broadcast and therefore validated, and in this, it may be viewed as truth.

Now; hear this word, for we have discussed truths previous, and they are not what you objectively perceive them to be.  In this, your perception — in that it creates your reality — is a truth, for your reality is a truth.

But what you create is individual, and it is reality as you create it, but it may be perceived differently by other individuals, and you need not acquire the validation of other individuals — or individuals that you deem to be authorities or to hold a greater ability than yourself — to be solidifying what you assess as truth.

HOWARD:  Okay.

ELIAS:  Now; let me also express to you, in relation to our initial discussion this day, you have moved yourself objectively away from certain expressions of established religious beliefs, but you also have merely turned your attention from one angle of this particular bird to a different angle, which is identified as metaphysics, which is merely another expression of religious beliefs.

HOWARD:  Oh!

ELIAS:  Therefore, your expression underlyingly is no different from your child.  Your objective projection or your identification objectively may be expressed differently in terms, but underlyingly, the belief is the same.

HOWARD:  Yeah.  That is very good.  Hmm!

ELIAS:  Now; in this, correlate with your dream imagery, for within your expression of turning your attention to metaphysics as opposed to the establishment of other organized religions, so to speak, you view the authority now to be self, but not genuinely, for the authority is moved in the position of essence or your higher self, not the self that walks about the earth.

HOWARD:  Wow.

ELIAS:  In this, look to your expression of your dream imagery, that you look to the validation of this other individual to be confirming your recognition of the reality of things unseen.

HOWARD:  Yes.

ELIAS:  In this, you also look to other individuals to be validating, in confirmation and agreement with yourself, of your discovery of those elements of your reality that are unseen.  But this desire objectively projected for objective validation is blocked by yourself, for you are also projecting your energy in a questioning and a lack of acceptance within self.

Therefore, this is what is transmitted, so to speak, within energy in your interaction with other individuals.

HOWARD:  Okay.  I understand, pretty much anyway.

Well, I’m not feeling too well.  If we could adjourn, I’ll say good-bye to Mary, and I certainly wish you the best of everything in the future.

ELIAS:  We may be discontinuing, and I may be offering energy to you that may be helpful in an element of comfort.

HOWARD:  Thank you.

ELIAS:  I express to you, do not be moving your attention in discounting of self.

HOWARD:  Okay, I will.

ELIAS:  To you, my friend, I offer encouragement.

HOWARD:  Thank you.

ELIAS:  And we shall speak again.

HOWARD:  Thank you.

ELIAS:  In affection, au revoir.

HOWARD:  Good-bye.
